Here's How We Got Started

1994

Where It All Began

Mr. Bhushan Sheth entered financial services at a defining moment in India’s economic history — the year the country welcomed its first private mutual fund. Most people saw it as a regulatory event. He saw it as a calling. For the next decade, he immersed himself in an industry still finding its feet, building deep expertise and earning the trust of the families he served.
2005

A Higher Orbit

After ten years of experience and relationships built on integrity, Mr. Bhushan Sheth founded Urjita Financial Services Pvt Ltd and launched the Orbit brand. The name was deliberate — a belief that every family deserves to reach a higher orbit in their financial life. Orbit was built not as a product-pushing enterprise, but as a long-term, honest relationship. Among his earliest decisions was bringing in Mr. Bharat Dhruv as the company’s first hire — a partnership that would prove foundational. Mr. Dhruv set about building the systems, processes, and operational discipline that gave Orbit its backbone, and has since grown to become the Chief Executive Officer of the company.

2015

The Next Generation Steps In

Mr. Kshitij Sheth joined the practice, completing a father-son partnership that would become Orbit’s defining character. He brought analytical depth, a global lens on markets, and a relentless drive to modernize the client experience — while preserving everything that had made Orbit trusted in the first place. Together, the team built something rare: a firm with institutional rigour and a family’s warmth.
2019

Partnership Development Program

With a growing conviction that financial freedom should be accessible to every Indian family — not just those in metros — Orbit launched its Partnership Development Program (PDP) in 2019. The first to join as a partner was Mr. Vinay Kamat, whose commitment and belief in the Orbit philosophy set the standard for what the program would become. PDP trains and onboards aspiring entrepreneurs, equipping them with Orbit’s knowledge, systems, and values so that they can carry this mission to more families across the country.
